Unlocking a world of curiosity.
Latin is a rich and systematic language that connects us to centuries of learning. Latin roots are still heavily used in science & medicine, law, theology, language, and literature. We study Latin at Redimere because it unlocks a world of curiosity and understanding.
A love of language
The Latin Program
Our desire is that students leave their studies of Latin with a love of language, confidence in learning, and a connection to both Christian and classical traditions.
Our Approach
For centuries, Latin was learned through recitation, memorization, singing, and conversation. At Redimere, students chant, recite, discuss and read together, preserving the communal and joyful aspects of language learning. Students first hear and speak before they analyze. Written exercises support learning but never replace it.
We believe learning should be full of joyful wonder. Latin should unlock ‘aha’ moments as children sing and understand traditional hymns, discover the logic behind scientific words, and intuitively decode signs in other languages.
Redimere follows the Memoria Press Latin sequence, using Ecclesiastical pronunciation and regularly drawing connections to hymns, prayers, mottos, Scripture, and the language of Christian tradition.
